The Home Team
Co-Founders
Landon and Ryan Penney started The Home2First Foundation because baseball has been a huge part of their lives, and they want to make sure every kid has the same chance to play—no matter their financial situation.
Today, Landon is a freshman at Catholic University in Washington, D.C., studying Business and is a left-handed pitcher on the baseball team in the Landmark Conference. Ryan is a senior at Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, AZ, graduating in May 2025, and will be heading to Princeton University in the fall as a right-handed pitcher for the Tigers baseball team in the Ivy League Conference.
Their inspiration came from Coach Jorge of the Scottsdale Heat and a trip abroad to the Dominican Republic in 2021, where they saw kids playing with barely any equipment—but with just as much love for the game. That moment stuck with them, and they knew they had to do something.
Through Home2First, they’re working to break down financial barriers so young athletes can get on the field, develop their skills, and be part of something bigger. Because baseball isn’t just a game—it’s a community, a passion, and an opportunity every kid deserves.
